Taylan: Boletus edulis? Found under conifers by Rose Gardens in Portland. Undercap does not stain blue or any other color. B. edulis?
Dick: It's pretty dark for B. edulis. Probably B. regineus or B. fibrilllosus.
Taylan: The color puzzled me too. I had eliminated B. fibrillosus because the cap does not seem to have finely fibrous texture. B. regineus is a good candidate.
