Gomphus clavatus -- Pig's ears

Taylan said: Thanks to Sava for teaching this one to me. Have been experimenting with various recipes. Grows in large clusters in areas where there are chanterelles nearby. Has forking veins and a lilac purple hue underneath cap. Spores tan or very light brown. Flesh white on younger specimens. What is it?

Elmer Said: It looks like "pigs ears" (Gomphus clavatus) to me, but that seems to easy. Is is something more exotic? Elmer

Taylan said: Elmer is right, it is Gomphus clavatus.
