Gomphus clavatus -- Pig's ears

Grows in large clusters in areas where there are chanterelles nearby. Has forking veins and a lilac purple hue underneath cap. Spores tan or very light brown. Flesh white on younger specimens.
What is it?
Elmer Said: It looks like "pigs ears" (Gomphus clavatus) to me, but that seems to easy.
Is is something more exotic?
