Gomphus clavatus -- Pig's ears
Thanks to Sava for teaching this one to me. Have been experimenting with various recipes.
Grows in large clusters in areas where there are chanterelles nearby. Has forking veins and a lilac purple hue underneath cap. Spores tan or very light brown. Flesh white on younger specimens.
What is it?
Elmer Said: It looks like "pigs ears" (Gomphus clavatus) to me, but that seems to easy.
Is is something more exotic?
Taylan said: Elmer is right, it is Gomphus clavatus.
