The top was somewhat slimy

It was growing under a conifer

The spore print was light brown or cinnamon

Elmer: Am I correct that this is a Suillus brevipes
The pores appear to me to be in rows,
The spore print was light brown
Dick B: Suillus brevipes typically has a med to dark brown cap,
very small pores that are not radially aligned,
a whitish stipe without an annulus and occurs with pine. Care to guess again?
Katie: The 1st and 2nd pics look just like my S.caerulescens and ponderosus.
Mine have been among Doug Firs and Maples.
I cooked them well and ate them.
Arora says they are just edible but seemed good edible for me and I did not get any
indigestion but that is why I cooked it well.
Thanks for the pics. Wish I could get spore prints like that.
