Hericium erinaceus

Shak: I found three beautiful white mushrooms growing
in the wounds of a hardwood around the corner from me:
The largest is over a foot long and the teeth seem to be drying a little at the ends:
Can anyone identify it as well as the tree?

Sava: The mushroom looks like H. erinacues indeed,
and the tree seems to be walnut.
There are other Hericium species,
please see if your mushroom fully matches the description in your book.
